On our 7 Night Cruise our of Venice on Royal this was our favorite port when it came to back drop. The ship literally is surrounded by giant mountains and the views are beautiful. When we got off the ship we paid a driver 40 euros and we got a unique personalized tour up the mountain to get a great picture of the whole town mountains and ship. He also drove us to the neighboring city of Budva which was a unique city and a lot of fun. When we returned we visited the old walled city in Kotor, it’s free and has some really neat shops! Enjoy.

Loved it and the visit to the nearby city of Budva. both very scenic. The ship was docked directly on the promenade of the old walled city of Kotor. Stuff was relatively inexpensive.

Montenegro was a pleasant surprise. We did not expect such a wonderful excursion on the Boka Bay and Perast. Thank goodness, we didn't skip Montenegro. It was truly wonderful.

Montenegro is absolutely gorgeous. Make sure to be out on deck at sunrise as the ship enters the fjord like entrance to Montenegro. You will take lots of photos. We took a ship excursion that took us into the countryside. We had a great guide and it was an interesting and beautiful excursion.

AMAZING. This was the jewel of this cruise. We hiked to the top of the fortress (about 1,300 steps up) and it was a trek but the views were spectacular. Walked around the old town and had lunch. It was a great day. This is a tender port and it was very windy, so we were not able to get off the ship until about 11am, but it all worked out. The captain really tried his best to get us into this port and get us to shore.

Amazing! The sail-in was jaw-dropping, with the high mountains all around. Again we had planned a hike to the fortress on the city walls high above the city so did not take an excursion. The climb is challenging but certainly worth the spectacular views. Returning to the town, we found it very charming and relatively undiscovered (very cheap prices for beer and souvenirs). One of the best ports on the voyage.
