Small but very pretty town. Lovely clock tower and lots of small streets to explore. Lovely marina a short walk away and a modern shopping mall 30 mins walk from the ship. Just chill and take a wander.

Not an awful lot to do here on a Sunday, although the marina was lovely!

We decided to take a walking tour of Koper because the other tours at this stop had long drive times. This was a mistake. The town tour was so dull we dropped out after 15 minutes. The town is small & clean except for quite a bit of graffiti on side streets. It has a town square with an old administrative building & a nice church, but little of architectural distinction. Definitely go into the church because the paintings are beautiful. There is also a small museum with some nice exhibits of statues, paintings & even a few pieces of furniture. But there isn't much else to see & the restaurant scene wasn't large or distinctive. Back on the ship our room faced the town side, offering us a view of two mouldy walls, so no opportunity to sit on our private balcony & enjoy a lovely view. I feel we wasted one of our precious cruise days. We could have taken a cab to Trieste. The ship is there tomorrow, but we are taking the long bus ride to see Venice then (about 4 hours in a bus total, but my husband insists). The end of our cruise is not turning out to be a highlight. If you are thinking of taking this Oceania Cruise, wait until they have a dock in Venice. And maybe until they drop Koper as a port of call.

Didn't stay in Koper, took a private tour to Ljubljana and Lake Bled. Beautiful! Ljubljana is like a fairy tale city and Lake Bled is picturesque every where you look. Took a boat to the island in the middle of the lake to visit the church. Also, try the famous cream cake. Didn't have much time, just over an hour, in each location because driving took a long time. Slovenia is the size of New Jersey so imagine driving all over the state in one day. Tons of driving and traffic but worth it to see the highlights of Slovenia. Didn't venture into Koper so don't know what there is to see there.

Another Communist Country turn Democracy. The tour guide pointed out that they are thriving and it looked that way.

Tiny town and not much to see. This port is a starting point for tours not a destination in itself.

The old town was very nice to visit and our excursion was fabulous! We visited Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave. The castle was very interesting and the cave was unbelievable! We would have loved to visit the capital of Ljubljana but there was not enough time. A beautiful country!

Piran and tastings was fun. The winery was interesting and the tasting at the end was very nicely laid out.

I think this was our favorite just because of the scenery. We took the Best of Slovenia tour which took us to Ljubljana for some free time downtown. Then to Lake Bled for lunch and then a boat ride to the island. The food was very good. The views were absolutely awesome. Our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable and made it very interesting.
