I took the ships tour “city drive and Kom kuat distillery”. We had a very long wait in the theatre before this tour. Once we got on the road we went straight to the distillery. They showed us a brief video and then let us sample about 7 different liquors. We only had about 3-5 minutes to do so as the next group was coming through. We then had about 10 minutes to make any purchases and prices were very reasonable. We then took a scenic drive up to an overlook and had a drink at a cafe. From the cafe you could see the beautiful Paleokatritsa. We then went along the mountains back to Corfu town. We were given the choice to get out and go explore the town or go back to the port. I chose to get out and had a good time exploring the narrow streets and making a few purchases. When I was ready to go back I went to where the shuttle was to pick us up. Note that all the tours that dropped off and the ones who took the shuttle were returning via this method. So needless to say there was a long line for the return. I waited an hour in the heat for the bus that would be my turn to return on. Due to an MSC shuttle parking in our spot the Princess shuttle parked behind them and the middle of the line ran over and boarded before the employees could stop them. This was very chaotic and people nearly got hurt.

We didn't plan a ship excursion here. We decided it was easy to do on our own. We took the inexpensive bus from port to Corfu Town. We first walked over to pay our respects to Agios Spyridon at the church. We were lucky when we arrived as the casket was open with the priest present. Lit some candals. We then did some shopping and wondered around the quaint little town. Unfortunately this was a short port for us. So was unable to have enough time to hit the beach, but that was ok. We spent a fabulous day and so happy this was on the itinerary. So much to do here pending on how much time you have.

We walked about 1- 11/2 miles into town. There wasn't too much to do. There were a couple of forts to look at. We looked at the shops and ate.

We did a private tour to the beaches/coves of Paleokastritsa (?) - we hired a captain and a small outboard. Our captain, Spiro, spoke great English and took us all along the coast line, to beaches only accessible by boat or foot, into and out of small rocky coves, and showed us underwater caves to swim in...hot sun, cool, clear aqua marine waters made Corfu a memorable visit for us. This was one of our highlight excursions. Photos do not do any justice to the beauty of the beaches and water! Lunch on the boat while we explore was fantastic. I still can't believe that I could see our anchor and line which was well down over 40 ft.

I absolutely fell in love with this beautiful island. It is clean, safe, and the people are great. I will definitely go back. We hired a taxi driver for half a day so he can take us around the island. We went to see a monastery, a few beaches, and the beautiful city.

OMG IT WAS SO HOT THIS DAY!!! We could barely stay off the ship for an hour. The bus ride to the city was crowded and burning, and all we wanted to do was get back and be in the pool.
