Beautiful weather, friendly people and very picturesque sights. Sine we had visited Old San Juan recently we escorted some cruisers who were visiting the first time. We went to El Morro fort and the Catholic cathedral among other places. We stopped for some refreshments and purchased items from gift shop. We arrived in San Juan at 1pm and departed at 11pm. This is an ideal schedule for visiting San Juan .

Old San Juan is a wonderful place with more than 500 years of history and many beautiful historic buildings.

PR is always great. You can't take an Uber FROM the airport, but you CAN take an Uber TO the airport. Even from the terminal (if taxis aren't on strike blocking the road again) to the airport. Remember, PR taxis charge an airport fee of $3 plus $1 per bag. So bring CASH with you and expect to pay no less than $25 for 2 people to go to Santurce or Old San Juan in taxis. You can find the rates online by just googling Puerto Rico Taxi Rates. It's all metered taxis by zone. Take an Uber from your hotel to cruiseport. WAY cheaper. PR is the US, so our cells work fine there. PR was hit bad by the hurricane, but for the most part it still looked the same to me. Walmart and Walgreens were still there and the $.50pp water taxi from Brumbaugh (behind Subway) to Cataño was there. The free bus shuttle is a different bus now, that's a bummer. I liked the open air bus vs this new ACTUAL bus.

San Juan is great. They are ready for the tourist and ships to be there. Took the walking tour and had great food experience with Carmen. Well worthwhile.

We went in to San Juan 2 days prior to the cruise. We walked around all over Old San Juan. We at dinner at Barrachina and Greengos along Fortaleza Street on the 2 nights and enjoyed the Mufongo and more authentic Puerto Rican food. We went to several shops and bars and just took in the experience of Old San Juan. We stayed at the Sheraton in Old San Juan. The hotel was in great shape and the staff was friendly and I look forward to staying at the hotel again. We did not do any excursions, however I would like to try one in the future. I am already looking forward to my next visit to San Juan.
