We did not do any organized excursions in Puerto Rico. If you have time, we highly suggest eating at either restaurants - Lima or Casita Miramar - in the Miramar district. Both have wonderful food and we cannot stress how wonderful both establishments were.

There is so much to do here, from Old San Juan, some incredible restaurants and the El Yunque rainforest. Thankfully we came in a day early and scheduled a late flight out so we could take full advantage of this great city.

Walked around Old San Juan and took the free trolley for a short ride. Always nice to visit here.

Old San Juan is sandwiched between the port and the ocean so the views from some of the forts are spectacular. The Castillo de San Cristobal is within walking distance from the ship and is certainly worth visiting. I was on the Allure and the crew let passengers into the bow of the ship during sail away.

Will be in San Juan for the 4th time very soon for our pre-cruise. We love the friendly people and they need our business always but especially now after the hurricane. Six adults stayed in a condo 4 nights @ Isla Verda 2 years ago pre-cruise and we were able to explore but there is so much more to see. We plan to walk around Old San Juan yet again to soak up its culture and beauty for the short time we can be there this trip. We are definitely going back to the GENESIS Restaurant for the Can Can Pork and Mofongo which I have been craving for 2 years LOL Both forts are amazing and they're history should not be missed. Put on some comfortable shoes and start walking Old San Juan is definitely worth the effort.

We ate at local restaurant “House of Mofongo.” And it was wonderful. We did not do an excursion, but walked to one of the forts. Fun fact: $5 buys you admission into both the fort and the castle. We stopped at the Starbucks to use wifi for 5 minutes (re-up on Candy Crush). Enjoyed the shopping and going to each store for our “free” items.

This island has made some great progress since the storm. We took a tour excursion around the island and visited the Forts and the Old and New San Juan. We've been here on two other occasions and this was the first tour we took. Was fun and informative.
