All we did this time in this port was some shopping right at the dock. Our first experience in LaRomana was not that great so we decided to just stay close to the ship

Beach was overcrowded and extremely dirty both in the water and on the beach. We were told venomous water moccasins in the water so water was not a option. A dead women washed up on shore like 500' from where we were supposed to swim.. no body showed concern... glad we were leaving. I understand things happen but the locals were so nonchalant it was scary.

The little marketplace setup as soon as we got off the cruise ship had artwork, souvenirs and a few stores where you could buy snacks and toiletries, but that was about it unless you booked an actual excursion.
