We have been to Grand Turk several times. Our first time we hired a local driver to give us a tour, drop us off at a beach and return us to port. A lovely day it was. Our second was when we visited in November of 2017 we were aboard the first ship to visit since being beaten by the devastating hurricanes. We did another tour and swam about at the beach at end of the pier and in the pool there as well. Now this last visit (7/19/18)we had planned a day enjoying the beach and water. This was cut short because of horse poop. I am aware this is an animal in another country with different "rules" but when a horse is being walked on a crowded beach where they are selling photo opportunities at $10 and the horse drops a load kicking sand on top is nasty, lazy and unhealthy. Fast forward 15-20 minutes later another strolling horse and rider stop between myself and my granddaughter less than 5 feet away and yet again horse poop, lots of it now floating in the water where we had been playing. I will just stay onboard if I ever return.

Probably my least favorite ports of all of thw ports that Carnival has to offer... My family laugha because I refer to thia port as the "freebie port" because Carnival manages to throq this port every single itinerary and I hate it.

Beautiful island 7 miles long and 1mile wide. We took a taxi around the island. Our driver Sherrod was friendly, my brother asked to visit a particular location and he accommodated us. Flea market wasn't great, prices lower at the Carnival port area.

This port wasn't that great. The people were very kind and hospitable. We took a tour via open air "train" (actually a vehicle w/2 trailers). The town was still pretty wrecked. Jack's Shack made it great. Topher is a must to meet. You gotta try it, and it is close enough to walk to from the dock.

Love the port but was not told that locals own the chairs/umbrellas on the waterfront. All the other chairs were furnished by Carnival but the fact that they were free and not $30 like the ocean front......was not told to a lot of people. They were led to believe that all the chairs had a cost and were scrambling to get more money or sat on the sand.
