When I got to see these reviews I was surprised to see that it didn't have 5 stars! My husband and I went to a Disney Dream cruise for our honeymoon in 2015 and Castaway was by far our favorite place. The island is gorgeous! White sand, clear water! We got to relax at the Serenity section (adults only part) and enjoy the view and the awesome weather. This island also has FREE buffet, which is something you don't get with Carnival nor Royal Caribbean. The island also has a place for kids to play with inflatables. We loved everything about this Disney cruise that we convinced the whole family to come with us in April 2018, and I can't wait for our stop at Castaway Cay again!

This was a double dip cruise to CC. The first day was all about relaxing. We went to serenity bay (18+). Nice and quite. Recommend taking water shoes there are a lot of sharp rocks. The food was great. I wish they had some kind of music as it was almost too quite at times. It did rain and there are not a lot of places for cover. Everything we had was soaked by the time we got on the ship. Disney did take that effort effort and handed us a warm towel when we boarded the ship. Oitside of rain, it was a magical day! The second day we ran the 5k. Be aware there is not a lot of shade! Disney does a great job organizing and it is meant to just be fun. Many people just walked. It rained the second day as well, but toward the end. Such a beautiful island.

Lots and lots of people, even in January. Can't imagine hot season. The island beaches are thin, so ppl are packed in. Nicely "decorated" as usual for Disney.

Clean. Lots of seating. Went to adult beach...earlier in the day... we felt it was boring. Service was super, drinks were deliscious, chairs were on a slant due to water/tides. Saw some people doing yoga and relaxing in hammocks too. Bbq food was fine. Tram terrific. "Shopping" was sparse for islandy wares, but had what ever you might need. Daughter did the slides. She didnt wait long. Thought it was fun. She also snorkeled but was not impressed (we usually do sail and snorkel excursions)...many excursions cancelled due to winds and safety.

We originally booked parasailing, but it unfortunately was cancelled due to the wind that day. We were disappointed but quickly found a back up. We rented snorkel equipment that 3 out of the 5 of us used. The other 2 of us wimped out as the water was cold and you had to swim out a fair distance to see anything other than sand and grass. The 3 that went were able to see 2 huge sea turtles and a bunch of fish-it was certainly a highlight for them. Stingrays were so cool and the staff made for a great experience. Don't miss getting off on this day and use the tram-it's a much faster way of getting around.
