The cruise terminal of Amber cove is amazing but puerto plata was not particularly a nice place. There just wasn’t much to look at.

We had this stop instead of Turks, due to the damage from the Hurricane. Made it sound like the beach was right there as you got off the ship....NOT! A good 20 minute walk, next to a busy highway to get there. Otherwise you need an excursion to be driven to a beach. At the port a nice little bar at the top of the hill.
