Booked a last minute excursion and the tour was boring, the few minutes they stopped to shop we decided to walk about a block and buy from a small shop I got 7 of the same magnets for the price of 2 in the shop the tour guide took us to.

The contained area at amber cove was real nice with pool, zip lines and hilltop bar. Unfortunately our excursion was canceled due to lack of participants. Visit orphanage and city tour with lunch. Not Carnival’s fault, just very disappointed.

This port was beautiful and my favorite! Again another stop where you don't need to pay for an excursion. Amber Cove has a free resort with beautiful pools, water slides, and beach chairs. They also have a swim-up bar. Our excursion took almost the whole time, so I was disappointed we didn't get to spend more time there. They also have those cabanas out on the water that you can rent and I thought that would have been fun. Again very easy to get on and off the ship if you want to go back for lunch. We took the Igana Mama (not a carnival one) 27 waterfalls excursion and it is the coolest thing I have ever done! You hike about an hour up in the rainforest i would rate it a 6/10 level of hardness - you do need to be in shape. There were some people who were not and they caused the group to go slower which gave us less time at the waterfalls. so please be considerate of this. It took about 2 hours to get down by jumping and sliding down the waterfalls. It was seriously a blast. I was scared every time I had to jump but it was still a blast. The guides were so kind and funny. They made me feel very safe! They have photographers you can hire and they follow just you and your group and take pictures - its so worth the $50.00 I just looked at the pictures and videos and they are great!

Had a WONDERFUL time at Amber Cove. Loved the Sky Bar and the view of the entire port. The waterside, zipline, restaurant and shops are so enjoyable, clean and aesthetically beautiful. After spending time there we took an adventure by walking to Bachata Beach. The beach is not beautiful BUT the beach chairs are free, drinks reasonable and the water is enjoyable. Quite a few cruise passengers were there along with hotel guest.

Did the Waterfalls of Damajauga - Adrenaline adventure. That was my favorite excursion. We had a smaller group, so it was nice. Our guides were awesome. I'm terrified of heights, but they made jumping more comfortable. I am so happy I tried It. Highly recommend this excursion to anyone and everyone The country itself was decent, the half hour bus ride there was through the poor areas of the Dominican Republic, lots of litter on the ground
