This port is best visited with a shore excursion by your cruise ship. If booking excursion with an outside vendor - beware of bait and switch tactics and attempts at upsells. Port reminds me of Nassau ( flea market type atmosphere).

We went to Dunn River Falls. Our two sons climbed up through the water while we walked up. It wasn't that much fun for them or us. Then on the ride back, we were pressured to buy overpriced CD's with pictures. Didn't.

Some people don't the vibe they get here in Ocho, but I spent my time on the beach there at the Port and it was a relaxing time. The gentlemen David took very good care of Us made sure we were completely comfortable and had an awesome time.

hesitant to get off the ship but ended up loving Jamaica! Got fresh coconut water for cheap and hand carved wood as well. The only word thing was people were trying to sell pot through the security fence. Other than that definitely glad i took the time to enjoy it.

I went around with a friend who took me to some secret, completely hidden delights including visiting a school (I'm a retired schoolteacher), a small pot farm and a wonderful home-cooked meal, my favorite--jerk pork.
