We did book our one and only excursion in Jamaica on the ship. We did the Dunn's River Falls, Zip line and lunch. I believe it was right at $104 per person. I have never zipped in my life but I will be honest it did take a minute to get used to it. We did 7 zips in all but by the second one I was perfectly fine. I haven't went up the falls in about 20 years and boy it was a lot more strenuous this time around. It is an awesome experience if you haven't done it. We did have lunch at Margaritville (kind of). Our bus took us to the restaurant but we were quickly whisked 'upstairs' from the actual bar. They did have a buffet style that was brought out once we arrived. It was your typical food; jerk chicken, rice, a bread thing that really didn't have a taste. I did find it really odd this time around anywhere we went there wasn't water readily available. After zipping and climbing the falls they didn't have any water for us. Even at lunch they seemed to guard the water jug and the gallon jugs of punch with their lives. I thought was kind of strange even if you asked for a second glass they acted like you were putting them out. The chicken was really good I even went up for a second plate. After the lunch they hauled us back in the bus and took us to a shopping district. It was basically one big store that had the exact same things as every other shop. I have been cruising since 1992 and I have bought all of the trinkets, rum cakes, wood carvings than I can even being to care about. But, there were sure others that was packing that stuff out in bags. After 15 cruises I tend to pass on all of that stuff.

I mean... the place itself looked quite nice, but the locals were very pushy, always trying to sell you stuff, putting stuff in your hands to try and get you to buy it. Some nice things though, almost got kidnapped by some dude. 3/5, would’ve been four if I almost wasn’t taken.

Make sure to have cash for tips, souvenirs, etc. They accept USD pretty much everywhere. You'll get better prices if you have cash. Also, stick with a referenced tour group. We chose jamaicatours.com and had a great experience with climbing the Falls & tubing. Don't get sucked in by the sales at the Falls, some have reasonable prices, but many of the stores by the port have the same "hand-crafted" items for less.

Port was good, however, the excursions were a little chaotic. Long waits for buses and traffic bad around the only road around the port. We had an excursion here as well. Enchanted Gardens, Bird Aviary, and mini Waterfalls. Very interesting and educational excursion once we got there, but we were picked up with other people not going there so we had pit stops to deliver everyone else and we were last to our stop. It wouldn't be bad because it's a scenic drive, however, traffic was something to be desired. Bumper to bumper and only a two lane road. So we spent too much time on the road!

Thid port was beautiful. We found a local taxi driver who showed us around on a little tour before taking us to a private little beach where we enjoyed snorkeling and jerk chicken!

My least favorite port so far. Didn’t like the hassle from the locals trying to sell you their things. I understand they’re there just trying to make money to survive but personally my experience wasn’t very enjoyable as I had hoped it would be. If we visit this port again we will for sure book a beach excursion or just stay onboard the ship. I will say that I would like to give this port a second chance. It’s a very beautiful place but just wish our experience could’ve been a little different.
