loud, filthy, rugged land where anyone with sight or mobility issues may fall. The cement walk ways and brick pavers are torn are up making it difficult to walk. Poverty at port and a feeling of being unsafe may arise as the poverty is so evident and uncleanly environment. People seemed okay but I was uneasy as a woman. My husband was fine with it but remarked how junky and torn up the area was. Need to go outside that town for anything of scenic views. It does make you appreciate your country.

We booked an excursion through Yardy Tours to Dunn’s River Falls. It was excellent! We had a small group of 6 and our driver stayed with us the entire time. He dropped us off and Waited until we finished the Falls. Afterwards, he took us to a local store to buy some souvenirs and then asked if anyone wanted lunch. We all opted to go back to the port. I would recommend climbing the falls. They are beautiful!

Every time in Jamaica, no matter what port, resort or airport we don't feel safe... shook down at the airport, offered drugs at resorts and ports.

Dunns river Falls and Mystic Mountain were AMAZING!! Highly recommend either one of these excursions or a package to do both. However you will not have time to shop or walk around the port if you do both. Just an FYI, for us it was not an issue.
