Jamaica has really gone to seed, not a good place to visit, you have to be very careful of the people trying to lead you away from the main drag areas, and trying to sell you drugs or whatever. Even in the main shopping area, the store clerks are very aggressive, and more or less demand that you buy stuff and if you don't they get mad! We finally found a coffee shop and a table outside of it and just sat there and waited for our bus to pick us up again. We did the excursion to the bamboo raft ride on the White River, which was very nice and relaxing, but too short.

By far the best stop we made. Dunn's River Falls is amazing but loaded with tourists. We made an excellent choice though: pay a trust worthy cab driver to hang out with you the whole time and take you places, very well worth it. After the falls, we went to a reggae bar on the beach and ate their famous jerk chicken and drank Red Stripes. We even went up into the Blue Mountains which was very scenic and great because we were the only tourists up there. My biggest complaint: everyone there is VERY VERY pushy and will literally grab your hands and pull you into their shop. Be stern with them and don't buy anything you don't want or you'll go broke in about 20 minutes.

Loved this place! The port was beautiful and easy to navigate. We did Mystic Mountain and it was a blast! I loved it. Bobsledding was so much fun and the ride up on the lift was beautiful!

We had planned to do a little shopping and go to the beach but the locals were so pushy. We have been to many other islands and have had pushy locals but here was so much worse. You couldn't say more than 3-4 words to a family member or take more than 2 steps without being hounded (they walk with you) to buy an excursion, take a taxi, have your hair braided or even buy some pot. We walked two blocks out of port and by then I had had it and we were going to get lunch and go back to the ship. We sat down to eat and men were reaching thru slats of the restaurant to sell us stuff. We left and went back to ship. I was excited to go to Jamaica and I will NEVER go back!

I suggest doing an excursion through carnival. We took a taxi and got way overcharged and when we asked to go shopping they took us to a bad tourist trap. Had lunch at mama marleys which was fair. Drinks were good. Wishing I did the resort for a day. They had a nice beach there and served lunch, and that is really what I wanted. Live and learn!! Be careful taking children into shops as there are a lot of x rated items for sale. Lol 😂

Definitely make sure you have an excursion planned. This isn't the tourist side with beautiful beaches it's run down and people all over stopping you to buy marijuana or other stuff. Dunns river falls was fun we also did beach horseback ride with peat taylors tours which was okay. The blue hole was cool but it's deep water so make sure you can swim. Also try the brownies they are yummy😃

Jamaica was wonderful. The cooking class tour was better than expected with stops at the Bird Sanctuary, Turtle Farm, and Hell.
