Getaway is a beautiful ship. The staff is great. The food was well prepared. The itinerary was exciting. As usual with any cruise, the experience will be what you make of it.

Smooth and efficient process. I was not assigned a boarding group and was lumped in the general boarding category. I wasn't in a hurry to get Vibe passes or any other signature booking so this was fine and boarding still went fairly quickly.

Food and Dining

Food was great in all venues. The buffet had sufficient selections and seating was ample. Specialty dining venues were superb. I ate at Le Bistro, Moderno, and La Cucina. Portions were larger than expected and food was perfectly prepared. Service was exceptional.
Onboard Activities

There were plenty of activities daily. I didn't participate in all, but I was never bored or lacking something to do.
Entertainment

Million Dollar Quartet was my favorite show. Burn the Floor was all delightful. Cover bands at Syd Norman's did not disappoint. The paid shows Cirque de Soleil and Wine Lover's the Musical were well worth the additional cost. No need to spend extra on them if you're not inclined to do do, but worth it, if you are willing to pit out the extra money.
Service and Staff

I received great service across the board. I wasn't impressed with the bartenders who mainly pour premixed concoctions versus having the ability or authority to mix cocktails. It was nearly impossible to get virgin drinks at Sugarcane, Mixx, and Sunset. The one drink Getaway, I wanted with the elderflower liqueur but sans the rum. No can do, it was already premixed. Same response at most bars for other drinks. Nonsensical but probably a necessary evil to prohibit heavy handed pouring of the spirits. That's really my only issue with the service. They need bartenders versus servers pouring beverages and updated beverage policies.

Studio is small but laid out well so I didn't find it cramped.
Ship tip
NCL likes it queues so be patient and get to the venues early. Book dining ahead of time if you can to make sure you get the venue and time you want.
