Not sure what the problem is with Jamaica, but at the Montego Bay Terminal, we wanted a 15 minute taxi ride to Rose Hall Iberostar. The apparently regulated rate for 3 people is $80!!!! After I told the people managing the scheduling of taxi’s that I wasn’t paying $80, they wanted nothing more to do with us. Has anyone else had problems like this?

A number of people told us not to even get off the boat but I am glad we did. People are friendly but everyone is looking for a buck. Probably the most pushy place I have been. Snorkeling was surprisingly good at Doctors Cave beach. Visibility was not the best and the beach was crowded but saw a number of fish and rays out by the buoys. Jimmy Buffet’s was fun until it got too rowdy for our family. The slide and floating toys there were a blast. Lunch was good. Traffic was crazy. I wouldn’t wander too far off the beaten path. Vendors seemed the most willing to deal and had some nice crafts. I would love to explore more with a trusted guide.

This was a great port lots of fun excursions to do either through the cruise ship or on your own. And since it's Caribbean , there's always Rum to help make "wise" decisions.

Our first visit we did the zip line tour and lunch booked through Carnival which was great. What I don’t like is that, depending on which side you dock at, there’s either very little to do or nothing to do at the port, and it’s $25 a head just to get to the hip strip. The second time we visited we didn’t have an excursion booked and were on the side of the port where there isn’t even a gift shop, so we got back on the ship and took advantage of an almost empty pool.

Well, I can say I have been to Jamaica. Really don't care to go back. Locals were friendly but extremely pushy. The port wasn't in the best part of town I would say, but I did have amazing jerks chicken and did a little shopping.

We had a great excurtion here. We did the sub and smorkeling and toured the coastline by boat. If you shop here, stay to the approved shops. We found some of the other shops to be way too pushy. The approved ones were good.

My group and I did the all inclusive pass to Rio hotel. It was a beautiful day! After having upset stomachs from the food on the ship and being extremely hungover the jerk chicken and Jamaican meals brought us back to life!!! We played frisbee on the beach, listened to music, WITNESSED A WEDDING!! It was a beautiful warm day in Montego Bay. The locals were friendly, the waters were nice. Be sure to bring water shoes for the hot sand and the ocean. Some parts have that weird muddy/grassy area, but still a wonderful day! Get the jerk chicken and the pork!!!

Went horse back riding and we loved it!! Wish I could go back and spend more time there. The taxi driver was fantastic took us on a tour around the island before reaching our destination. Very nice people.

The Appleton Rum tour was excellent...super lunch and the 2hr bus trip travelled through so much of the countryside giving us a good idea how people live there. The scenery was wonderful as well. The bus ride there was a little scary on the narrow switchback roads but we had a good driver.

Dont do the Negril Spendor - it was anything but. Bus ride about 1 1/2 hours - then went to Royal Palms Reserve - tour guide was late - when she arrived - walked around looking at trees, etc - and then went to Margaritaville in Negril. Unfortunately - Margaritaville did not know we were coming - so nothing was ready for us (20 people) - the beach was beautiful here - and we layed out. At 12:35 pm - lunch was finally ready (we arrived at about 10:45 am) and we had to be on the bus at 1pm....so much for that one.
