It was pouring rain when we arrived and worried that our excursion to an exclusive beach house would be canceled. We were given the option of canceling in advance but decided to chance it anyway. The day never got sunny, but the rain did stop and we had a great time. Our guides, Jeffrey and Howie were so much fun, the beach house was gorgeous, and the food and drinks were delicious. 15 minute massages were included if you wanted them, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

My number 1 port. We went to LFK or Little French Key and had a blast. So much to do and a lot of places to relax. They are recovering quick from the fire.

OMG, this is by far the most beautiful port I've ever been to on a cruise. I mean it was just pretty, the actual port was completely done by Carnival and only Carnival ships come to this area...but the trees and the mountains and the lush vegetation were there long before Carnival came in 5 years ago and built this spot up. My son and I did the Extreme Zip Line and Beach excursion. It was so much fun and so pretty to be up in the jungle and end on the beach. My husband was "waiting" for us at the bar where the last zip line ended. The beach was very nice, of course finding a chair was a bit of a chore. There were multiple chairs to rent with umbrellas, but they were supposedly all rented already even though there went towels or bodies in them. The excursion was a very short walk and then a truck took us up to the top zip line and the walk back from the beach was simple too. Very nice port.

Our first port of call was at Mahogany Bay. We did not plan an excursion for that port and planned on just enjoying the beach that was within walking distance from the ship. Unfortunately the weather was not the best that day and was overcast and rainy most of the day but we still enjoyed it. There is a cool little nature trail that we walked and there are a few shops and local places to eat. There was one other ship docked at the port but it was not terribly crowded. We put our stuff down on the beach and swam in the water for a while. We went back to the ship for lunch and then went back out and found empty beach chairs to lay on and read for the rest of the evening. The scenery was gorgeous and we enjoyed a pretty relaxing day in port. We were back on the boat about 45mins before it was scheduled to leave. We hung out on the promenade deck while it left and that was cool getting to watch it sail away from the port.

Our second visit to Roatan was on the Allure of the Seas, this time we docked at Coxen Hole instead of Mahogany Bay. We booked an excursion with Shore Excursioneer called “Roatan Paradise Beach Club Day Pass” which was fantastic. We had a private vehicle transfer to/from the port to hotel. We met the representative just outside the gate to the port. It was a nice scenic half-hour drive, once we arrived at the Paradise Beach Club were given a bracelet, towel and a briefing on the hotel amenities. We were escorted to our beach chairs and spent the afternoon on the gorgeous West Bay Beach. The water was warm, super clear and had some of the best snorkeling we have seen in all our travels. We had a nice leisurely lunch in a “toes in the sand”, laid-back Cayuco Beach Grill beachside restaurant. The washroom facilities were clean and they had a very nice pool set in lush gardens. There was plenty of shade if you wanted it which was also a nice option. When we were ready to leave we just informed the host who had met us upon arrival and he called our transfer. Make sure you give them plenty of warning time on your departure timings because traffic can be very busy. Overall a very nice excursion and the cost was $114usd for 2 adults and 1 child (8yrs). I’d highly recommend it and we look forward to doing it again.

This was by far our favorite port! We loved visiting Daniel Johnson's Monkey & Sloth Hang Out. Absolutely feel in love with the monkeys & sloths! We then did snorkeling with the coral. Both the excursions were amazing! The snorkeling was much more relaxed & just beautiful! If you get a chance I highly recommend Daniel Johnson's Monkey & Sloth Hang Out!
