The private island is nice if you want a beach to lay on and enjoy the sun. There is also a small splash park. You can go swimming in the sea as well but the water clarity was really bad. There is also a bit of shopping. Otherwise you are stuck on a small island with not a lot to do and expensive food and drink that is not included in your drinks plan. If you want to sit on a reasonable but crowded beach with no shade, there are lots of better and cheaper places to go. There were excursions but with the boat ride to the mainland and the options available (at the NCL prices) they did not seem worth it as they would be rushed.

Harvest Caye is purpose built by Norwegian. It has a beautiful pool. The sand is very gravelly though if you prefer the beach. You do not need to rent a cabana or cottage as there are plenty of beds and umbrellas. Although this caye belongs to Norwegian, there is an extra charge for everything. Although lovely, Harvest Caye is nothing like the test of Belize.

Please read Norwegians description of this port, it is NOT a private island in the traditional way. It is absolutely beautiful with an enormous pool plenty of chairs music swim up bar, tables and stools in the water (very cool) to enjoy your drink away from bar area if you wish. Beach area that stretches for days with tons of chairs and a separate kids splash area with splash bucket and water slide. What it does NOT have is free/included food like a traditional private island. There is a for fee resturant, and shopping. If you want to eat for free you have to go back to ship and come back. That didn't bother me the walk was short and they will drive you in golf carts if you want back to the ship. I enjoyed relaxing here but they do have excursions to see the city of Belize if you wish to tour

I fell in love with Parasailing (my first time). Wonderful, smooth, gentle and not scary or jerky at all.

The port they now use in Belize has a free beach right there along with excellent non-aggressive shopping

I know NCL spent a lot building this perfect island but I actually preferred the real Belize, I probably will avoid this location on future cruises.

If this was a Norwegian port, then I shouldn't have to pay for food and drinks. Other cruises don't charge for their private islands.
