This port was our best experience. We did our own thing at this port which was easy to do. Check out Calico Jack's if you get the chance. This was our best beach experience with calm, clear waters, white sandy beaches on 7-mile beach, and friendly people. This port uses tenders to get to shore so pack as light as you can and be patient.

Hubby and I enjoyed (11/25-12/2-2018) Grand Cayman. We visited the National Museum ($6), several shops, the post office, and ate at Margaritaville. We may plan a future trip to island hop the Cayman Islands.

During our Christmas Cruise, things did not go as planned in this port. We actually pre booked our excursion to the rum distillery and beach with shopping via shipmates. That turned out to be a bad idea!! The day we arrived (12/26) was actually a holiday in the Caribbean. We get off the tender and arrive to the designated meeting point and waited for over 45 minutes for our tour guide to show up. Other tour guides/ bus drivers tried reassuring us that John was coming and that he was always late. Eventually, they even tried calling John... no answer! Needless to say, John didn't show up. Finally, we just decided to hop on one of the available tour buses, which was definitely not what we had planned for our day. Unbenounced to us, our excursion had been canceled due to Boxing Day. We were notified via email on the evening of the Excursion at 6 p.m. ( Saw the email once we got to the states in the 29th). The event coordinator did issue a full refund. However, it would have been nice to have know in advance that the tour was canceled, or better yet, it would have been more professional of them to not even book The Excursion on a holiday. It would have prevented a lot of confusion and wasted time.

This was our favorite stop. The island is so beautiful and 7 mile beach is breathtaking. White sand and blue water as far as you can see. The island is clean and has been built up just enough we thought. We just paid a local taxi to take us to a public beach and went jet skiiing. Be sure to bring a towel if you go to the public “free” beach because it costs money for the chairs. And the servers at Calico Jacks are definitely in island time! Just be prepared to slow down and chill.

George Town was the best it was very clean, and we had to be tendered in. You should leave your room 30 minutes before your excursion time, because you will have to get on a tender ship to get to the actual dock. For us we left from New Orleans which we were an hour behind in George Town. They do not have daylight savings time so now they are on the same time as central.

We LOVED Cayman! We did the dolphins & turtle excursion & had such a blast. The teenagers had a great time holding the turtles & taking pics. My daughters dream was to swim with dolphins & we all really enjoyed it! We got to hang out with Alma the dolphin & learn about her, dance with her, get a kiss from her. So much fun! Plus, it's breathtakingly beautiful there! Water is so blue, it's amazing! Next time we go we'll definitely check out the beach!
