We did a resort for the day through jaital.com. at the Riu Montego Bay. It was perfect. We waited about 30 minutes for the remainder of our driver's group to show up. He felt bad for making us wait so he made arrangements for another driver to take us in a private car. It was awesome and we were so impressed that they treated us so well. Jamaica is a poor nation so dont go there expecting anything more. They are the friendliest people you will ever meet amd truly enjoy their heritage! We will go back again!

We visited Falmouth, Jamaica on the Indy. Instead of an excursion through Royal, we caught a taxi to MoBay and that was a better choice for our group. One bit of advice if you choose to do the same, Negotiate the fare cost for your group before you get in the vehicle! Also, the beach we went to, Doctors Cave, is $6 American dollars for an adult and $3 American dollars for kids 3-11. Our driver, “Bobby” did not inform us of the cost, so that was a surprise.

We enjoyed our bamboo rafting trip with our grandchildren and their parents! We had to book this off the ship because our grandson was only 3 but he’s already did some whitewater tubing in Colorado so thought it would be safe and it was. The rafting guides were awesome! We enjoyed the shopping in the secure zone but when we decided to find a local restaurant outside to cruise ship security zone it rapidly turned less safe. We were harassed by a man trying to push us into paying him for security. We quickly retuned to the “fort”. I don’t recommend venturing out with kids!

This port was fun. there is a large shopping area open only to cruise passengers. Once outside the gate there are plenty op people selling tours and various other items. Some cruisers found them annoying. They are not very aggressive. Just keep walking. We were after Jerk Chicken. I found Pepper's Jerk Center. It was a short walk. Food was excellent. Highly recommended. There is a grocery store on the way that has a lot of Jamaican spices. Take small US bills. If they can't change a $20, they will want to give change in Jamaican. You don't want change in Jamaican. If you try to change it back, you WILL take a hit. You will be approached by people offering to sell Ganga. Avoid buying from people outside the gate. If this is your pleasure, you will find many in town that will sell and roll high quality smoke. DO NOT bring any back to the ship. Not Cool.

Friends had suggested Dunn’s River Falls. We were not disappointed. My husband is 71 and overweight and made it up fine. I did not want to try the walk in the falls so I just took stairs all the way up and stopped and took pictures of them at all the observation points. We all had a great time.

This is a filthy, dangers place; if your ship stops here do NOT leave the tourists trap area unless you're on an exclusion. We rare commend the Chukkan zip line tour at Ocho, the bus ride there there beautiful and their staff is AWSOME
