We did not leave the port. Use this day as an on board ship day because it is not crowed.

We were not ready for the poverty that is very evident. Be mindful of being approached by individuals when walking.

Minus some jewelry and souvenir stores, not much dining options near the cruise port if you just want to walk around. Fun island, Dunns River Falls excursion highlight recommended for those in decent shape.

We have been to Falmouth several times so we just went into the shops for about an hour and then went back on board.

Unless you enjoy hanging out at the bars or going to Diamonds International, there's not a whole lot of interest in the pier area. The town, which is only a block away, while poor, gives a snapshot of local life. There were some dancers putting on a show in the gazebo when we were there.

We have been to Jamaica many times before and have experienced many of the tours offered by the cruise. For this trip, we opted to just visit the shops at the pier.
