Cozumel has changed a lot since I last visited 20 years ago, but for the better. We spent the day at a private beach resort (Nachi Cocom) which was fantastic but also out of the scope of this review. Cozumel itself still has a lot of the tourist trapping malls and gift shops and false authentic restaurants, but it has a certain charm. Most importantly gone are the days of the sketchy cabs, as all the cabs are regulated and centrally managed with pricing now zone-based and flat rated within each zone so you don't have to worry about haggling or getting ripped off.

This is a very tourist stop. I did an excursion thru Viator it was fun but allow yourself time to get off the ship and get to your pick up spot. We did a Jeep tour and it was good but we reserved two jeeps and only got one, which worked out. You can easily take a taxi from the port to the beaches and by pass some of this. Any beach works and the food and drinks are good.

Cozumel electricity was out so that wasn't good for those that didn't bring cash off the ship or enough cash for purchases. We weren't able to get frozen drinks either but as always I enjoyed Cozumel

Took an excursion offered by travel agent to learn how to make salsas. It was fun to do that. Salsa dancing was offered but I was the only one on the excursion as it was not offered by the ship.lol

Nice port--not as far a walk as Costa Maya. We went to the beach which was beautiful!! The food was fair at best. Truly enjoyable day!!

We didn't do an excursion. We walked around the port area but the shops were annoyingly aggressive. I wouldn't get off there again

There is nothing like swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Discovery!

I did a 3 reef snorkel. It’s the best! So many fish! Probably one of my favorite ports to snorkel now.
