We missed out on an excursion because it took 45 min to get off the ship. It's basically a big tourist trap where they'll charge you too much for their goods and services. Beaches and water are beautiful.

It was crowded with 3 ships all arriving at the same time but after all the excursions left it finally thinned out. Been there many times. Did not do excursions. Just shopped and ate.

I loved it. We booked a third-party semi-private that became a private tour as it was only our group on tour. The ship was in Puerta Maya, and after following the lines of shore excursions to the taxi area, we found someone that directed us to the Taxi line. It cost $8 for the 4 of us to be taken to town. We then walked to Senor Frogs to meet our tour guide Fredy, and he took us on a customized tour around the island. It was raining on and off in some areas of the island, so it was great that we had a bus as we only got rained on once when we were at a Tequila tour and tasting. We also went to a Mayan Bee Sanctuary (added cost) and stopped for lunch in town, and saw Mayan ruin replicas.

I really wish Carnival would quit tacking this tourist trap onto so many cruises. There is so few redeeming qualities of this Mexican port it isn't worth getting off the boat...even though I did. And again, once you get ashore you're bombarded with pushy merchants trying to pull you into buy junk. And when you do step into a shop, they often hang on your shoulder. I even had one tell me I couldn't leave without buying something because he had a family to feed. "leave me alone" just doesn't seem to be in their language. Ugh! I am so over Cozumel!

Jeep & Snorkel Excursions was not what we expected and almost walked away from the excursion. If you’re group isn’t in 4 you will most likely be split up. Our group was which wasn’t mentioned in the description. So our experience wasn’t what we expected. The food was the best part of the excursion. Visited a lighthouse, beach and swamp area. The description said beginners snorkel but that was far from the truth. When we brought these up to the excursions team onboard they were surprised by our comments. Immediately made notes and said they would address these concerns. I personally would steer clear from this excursion. Not worth it.
