My husband and I went to Chankanaab where we swam with the manatees then snorkeled in the park. We went on our own (we have been to Cozumel before) so we got our own taxi which also was incredibly easy both directions. The time in Chankanaab was one of the most incredible experiences we've ever had! The time with the manatees was pure delight and the snorkeling was gorgeous. I'm not a strong swimmer and had never snorkeled before but now I'm hooked!

Great port. Did not do excursions. Walked over to Margaritaville for a great steak taco lunch and view of water and ship. Had a milkshake at Hard Rock Cafe.

We love Cozumel! The people, the food, the beaches everything! The lighthouse at Punta sur, swim with manatee or dolphins at Chankanaab, hire a local to take you to little known sites, or just rent a car and explore on your own. We have done all of those and never been disappointed!

As people have said Cozumel offers something for all types of travelers ranging from very touristy restaurants bars and beaches resorts to more localized, more Mexican things as well. This trip I just walked through the maze of vendors in the retail pavilion at the pier and from there I walked downtown to the local department store, Chedraui. Chedraui and Mega department stores are my favorite places to shop in Cozumel. They carry everything. And they have a huge variety of alcohol literally a third of the cost that you will find in the duty free shops. $6 for liter of rum that is $18 in duty free store. Plus they have more brands of rum and tequila as well as cigars. And they take MasterCard Visa as well as dollars. Chedraui also has a decent snack bar selling very inexpensive hot food. I like to walk downtown to burn calories. And go in and out of a few pubs. If you walk try to go as early as possible to minimize the heat. It's about a 30-minute walk from the ship. You can also get a taxi which would be about 10 minutes to the local department stores.

Great, totally awesome. Don't be in a hurry to buy first tokens (souvenirs) you see because there are plenty of shops that will work deals with you to purchase their items.
