You will find rental companies in port. I believe we used Alamo to rent a Jeep. Drove around to the other side of the island and had a beach all to ourselves! There was even a little “store” across the street where the lady sold beverages & souvenirs.

Look and see if any of the major US rental car companies (like Alamo, Avis, Hertz) operate out of there.

We’ve rented Jeep’s many times. Alamo is the National compsny we’ve used but we also used a local location that had great service and rates. Some are online and you can arrange the rental early for the best price. All of our rentals have been stick shifts. I’m not sure if automatics are available may they just cost extra.
