If your taking a cruise line excursion they hold the ship until all passengers are back on board should the excursion be late. If you are going on an independent excursion then you are sol. The ruins are beautiful,especially where they back up to the ocean!

We are taking the Tulum and swimming in the cente tour thru NCL. It is such a long excursion I choose to purchase thru the cruise line and the cruise line will direct you where to go to meet with the group and our tickets will be delivered to our room the night before. Also when booked thru NCL they wait for your group if there are issues such as bus breaking down or whatnot. Now my other excursion Roatan, I purchased thru explore Roatan. Not nearly as long of an excursion.
