This port was beautiful! We did the Gumbalimba park. It was such a cool experience. You get to hold gorgeous macaw parrots. They were so mellow! I even held one like a baby! It was so sweet! Then we went to see the monkeys. They were so lively and fun! They are such curious creatures, and it was awesome to be able to interact with them! We had a blast!

One of my favorite islands and excursions as I have been on 8 cruises. Have never snorkled before and went to Tabyana beach and purchased a snorkel and were able to join a group and went around the reef. The weather was absolutely perfect, the water was very nice and very clear (you could so 90 feet down to the bottom off the drop off). Not to mention the amount of marine life was incredible. Will truly never forget this.

The best excursion ever... semi-submarine ! You are driven to different areas of Roatan and then see the Coral Reefs - the world’s 2nd largest! Fantastic time!

Didn't do an excursion on Roatan....didn't need to. Maghony Beach was beautiful. Offering lots of watersports, floats, loungers and restaurants and changing rooms available.

I anxiously awaited this Maya Key Private Island Retreat excursion by NCL and it did not disappoint. Because of pier and docked ships we had to take a tender boat to disembark from the Dawn and then another boat to Maya Key....no big deal except the confusion waiting at the pier (once tendered) for the excursion boat itself. Could have been handled better. I had read a review somewhere about the monkey animal encounter on this excursion (no additional charge) where you actaully enter an encaged monkey area with the monkeys. The staff take pictures with your camera of you while the monkeys jump and play all over you and around you. When you exit the cage they give you a long branch and have birds sit on your shoulder and end of branch while they take pictures with your camera. No charge to take pictures either. Donations are welcomed and needed for all rescued animals/birds on thie island. The small island with beach is pretty and with a lot of rescued animals to enjoy. I loved loved loved this excursion.

Roatán's nature is absolutely beautiful. Definitely try to find an excursion for this port so you can really enjoy it rather than just shop their limited amount of stores. My boyfriend and I did RCL's extreme adventure zipline tour. (South shore zipline). It was beyond amazing and fun. It's the most bang for your buck, has great staff, and it's an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Unless I missed something, there wasn't much to do here. I purchased entry into the Daniel Johnson Sloth & Monkey Hangout (not with the ship). We walked out past all of the excursion vendors to meet Diana our driver arranged by Daniel Johnson. She was very sweet & gave us a bit of history as we drove to the Hangout. The driving there is...crazy! A motorcycle in front of us rear ended a small SUV. Yikes! The Hangout was fun! The sloth was so cute - we each got to hold it. The monkeys are nuts! Do NOT forget & put your phone in your pocket while in the monkey enclosure! I forgot...lets just say...thankfully I had a glass screen protector! All is well!

Had a great time on the Monkey/Sloth zoo excursion and the glass bottom boat to see the coral reef. Other than that it was a bit scary, some male locals cornered by aunt and I so we ran back to the port. Don’t walk around alone in my opinion.

If you do not plan an excursion, not much to do near the port a bar and a few place to shop. I would either plan an excursion or take a taxi to a beach.
