Did an excursion here to the Mayan Water Park. The people running the park were very organized and helpful. The water slides were such fun as were the zip lines, but the favorite was the spinning lines. Also had a fairly shaded lazy river, with 3 waterfalls dumping water on you.a great cool off. We spent 4 hours in the water park.

Took a cab outside the port for $8+ tip and got dropped off at Tropicante. Servers are very friendly. Got some drinks, chips, guacamole, fish ceviche and french fries. Menu is in USD. Restroom inside the restaurant was really clean. Free beach chairs and umbrella. Loved the beach, very clear and shallow, no rough waves. This was my husbands favorite port on our Western Caribbean cruise. Would definitely go back to Tropicante, beware of the lady asking to take your picture saying its for the restaurant, it’s not. There are some people selling trinkets, got some magnets for $2, but it didn’t bother us. Definitely had a great experience in this port.

We really and truly enjoyed our excursion in Costa Maya! There was 6 of us, My parents 71 and 65, myself and my husband 47 and 41, my two youngest boys 13 and 11... So you can see the age span! We did the VIP Spa Retreat and Mayan Experience. It was perfect. We basically had a warm bath, a cleansing ritual, mud mask, the hottest steam and sauna ever, cold water rinse in the middle of the steam room, and due to the rain our hammock massage and coconut bath was replaced with a full body massage!!! Wow we were so happy!

Grab a local taxi to Tropicante bar. It's on the beach and owned by a guy from Dallas. $2 each in a taxi plus tip (from outside cruise port). Sun beds on the beach and you just pay for drinks and lunch! They also offer cheap massages!

My favorite port in Mexico. The people are so nice. Our eldest has special needs and can be a little noisy, instead of staring the locals came to ask if she was ok and if they could do anything to help. The shops were nearly lined in the streets, no one was pushy, we bought must of our souvenirs at this port. You really get to see a real piece of Mexico in this port.

We did the tubing excursion through RC at Bacalar and 7 color lagoon. The lagoon is beautiful and the lunch was good. We only wished we had more time to enjoy at the actual lagoon.

This was our first trip to this port, and we had a blast. We took the exclusive drive excursion to the Chacchoben ruins and it was great. It turned out to be very exclusive as we were the only people in our group. Our guide, Liliana, was awesome. After the excursion we grab some lunch at the Monkey, and went back to the ship. We are looking forward to our next visit already.

I absolutely loved Costa Maya! It was so pretty and all we did was walk around town and then we took a cab to another town and did more walking and shopping! I enjoyed myself without an excursion! Can’t wait to visit again!

This is a beautiful stand-alone port, you don't even have to leave it. We specifically chose this itinerary to visit the Chacchoben Mayan ruins and the Seven Colors Lagoon. It was a fantastic excursion and the boys said it was the highlight of their trip. Our guide, Sammy, was passionate, informative and more than a pleasure!
