We had a tour around the island. There is still a lot of damage from the hurricane. The beaches are nice. We really enjoyed seeing the planes land at Maho Beach.

We have also been to St Maarten before the hurricane, it is sad to see the damage but it was still our favorite port. Orient Beach and the French side have not been fixed up much so we did not go. The Dutch side still shows damaged roofs and closed businesses and hotels but the beaches Maho and Simpson Bay as well as on the boardwalk are great! The people and fun atmosphere are still wonderful and worth the trip.

We took an excursion involving a boat ride and snorkeling with two great hosts and time in town to visit local restaurants/shops. It was a lot of fun and we got to taste the local seafood.
