We snorkeled and went to the beach. They were ok excursions but the locations of both were not wonderful. We did snorkeling which we had to walk 20 mins to get to but then were in a tiny little area with barely anything to see. My boys enjoyed it because they had never snorkeled before but it was really nothing special. The staff there was great though. The afternoon beach excursion was just ok. As you can see by the picture below we were taken to a beach where boats were anchored very close to shore. This was our view. I didn’t want to look at boats...I wanted to look at clear blue ocean. We didn’t even get clear blue waters at all. When I asked why it was so cloudy I was told the anchors churn up sediment as the boats rock...never clear when boats are around.

Be aware that the beaches at Orient Beach area are almost washed away. The nude side is about 80 percent gone, and going fast. It was caving in as I stood there watching it. The buildings are in serious danger, at the current rate of beach erosion.

Again, few excursions available. It was extremely crowded everywhere. We were docked there at the same time with 5 other very large ships. Getting a taxi was close to impossible. Once you got one, there was tons of traffic. We spend the entire day just trying to get a taxi, take it to the airport area (which was also very crowded), stayed at the little bar there for a drink or 2 and take the taxi back. That pretty much took up the entire day.

Orient beach is great. The tour is fantastic they take you to a beautiful beach great for swimming. They serve a meal with the tour that is very good. We go to this beach every time we go to this island. In fact we love the beach so much that if this island is on the itenary it gets a double conseration.
