This was my favorite stop! Loved the beautiful waters and the people were very friendly! We hopped on the water taxi and then had to get transportation to Sunset beach. We ended up on their public transportation (which was very safe and friendly) and the driver was awesome, he also just waited for us (just 1 hour on this cool beach.) I think the the whole bus trip was $6 a person roundtrip (without the tip). Loved loved St Maarten!

We took a shuttle to Orient beach, but did not venture to the nude side of the beach. I think the shuttle was $13 pp. we found chairs and a cabana boy set things up for us. He was excellent at keeping our drinks coming and serving us lunch. The water and views were beautiful!

Bernard’s Private tour- guide’s name Juliet. Only negative about this tour was that we found it a little confusing to find Bernard’s tents to start the tour. Enjoyed seeing the island. Yes there is still a lot of damage from the hurricane. Was nice to see how far they have come! A good portion of our tour was spent talking about the damage and the recovery. Our tour included a stop at Orient Beach, the Iguana Farm, Great Case Beach (lunch on own at Rainbow) ($15 for 2 chairs and umbrella) and Maho Beach. Ended the tour in Philipsburg (Boardwalk area). Had snack and drinks at the Blue Bitch Bar and walked back to ship (10 minutes).

I loved this port. It was my first time taking a water taxi, the water was gorgeous. We really enjoyed walking around and shopping, getting to see all of the locally made items for sale, did not feel pressured to buy anything. I also got “bushwhacked”, seriously amazing drink! Would go back again just for that!! 🤣

This is the place to do on your own for sure. You can walk to downtown or take a water taxi. I prefer to walk but it is a good 15 minutes of walking by construction in the hot sun. The downtown area has more shops and liquor stores. It also has a great beach with food and bars. For $20 you can get two beach chairs and an umbrella. We did this and had so much fun at the beach. For lunch we went to the Lazy Lizard which was right there and a place I had been to before. Definitely go! The owners run the place (the husband often works behind the bar and the wife is a server) and introduce themselves to you every time. They are great people who make amazing food.
