We liked St. Maarten the best! The shopping and the beach areas are together. We just got off the ship and got on a bus and within 10 minutes we were their in sight of the cruise ship. My girlfriend loved the shopping there and I love the beach. This island's design is very convenient for tourism.

We went to the nearest beach to the ship. For $40.00 we got 4 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas, and 2 buckets of beer. The only issue here is the fact that the beach isn't very clean - lots of garbage on the beach..some broken glass (the water itself was fine, a little cloudy maybe but clean). I would recommend wearing beach shoes at this stop. We took the water taxi back to the boat. Don't let them tell you the beach is only a 10 minute walk...quite a bit longer and I'm a fast walker.

This port was my first time I it was lovely. The people was friendly and local tour ride. Make sure to have a local take you around to see the sites. It's worth it.
