St. Maarten is not one of my favorite places. We have been on many cruises there and the best thing one can do on this island is take to the water on a boat/catamaran trip. This time we chose to take the water taxi from the port to the main beach/shopping area in Philipsburg. It is definitely THE shopping destination of the Caribbean.

the island was beautiful, but more populated and felt more commercialized than the others. Enjoyed the stop at the rum distillery and the carousel. We wanted to sit on top of the double-decker bus to take photos but it was crowded and there weren't enough seats. Didn't care for the cheese factory or airport stops. Wouldn't do that tour again.

The island itself was beautiful! We did a jet ski tour around the entire island, the sad part was the hurricane destruction! It’s ruined the island and lowered tourist attractions which is putting the island into a slump 😢!

We had only a half day here, with an early-afternoon all-aboard time. We also shared the port with six other cruise ships, so the port was crowded and the views obstructed. That said, the cruise port area was really nice.
