Review summary

Beautiful ship but too many people. there is no walk around promenade, venues too loud, too small to handle the hoards of people on board.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Long lines in Ft Lauderale. Old terminal in need of work.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
great service, good selection of food.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
VERY Loud! Most indoor activities are in the lobby or main atrium area - the sound goes up through the public areas of the ship. Very crowded, no place to get away from everyone else.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
very good!

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
efficient - not so friendly but readily available.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
we sailed when the ship was pretty new.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Mini-Suite wasnt all that bug for the difference in cost from the balcony - next time we would stay in the balcony and save the money. Due to the walkway over the water, our balcony had a shadow all the time - it was dark and not too fun to sit out on like we generally do on other cruises.

Ship tip

Need to be SUPER careful where your room is in relationship to the glass walkway. Some rooms the people on the walkway could see right into people's rooms!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

1 out of 5
Congested, too much traffic, dirty old parking garage, old terminal buildings in need to serious renovations or tear down and rebuild.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
very nice, beautiful beach.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
in need of major repairs to sidewalks and clean up - the town seemed very grimy - this was prior to any hurricanes.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
love the beach and shopping are all within walking distance or a small cost for the boat ride to town

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
lots of people, seemed overwhelming - too much traffic, too congested, old & dated terminal/parking/etc.

I’ve never heard of anything on a Princess Cruise being too loud. Most of the time it is so quiet it is boring.
