We liked St. Maarten better than St. Thomas. The port was clean and well maintained. And the town area as well even though they had a hurricane in 2017. We walked to town which wasn’t that far. Lots of cute buildings and shops. The boardwalk along the beach is lovely and beach very nice. What we didn’t like was how the locals harassed us constantly to get a beach rental package which was chairs, umbrella, drinks for $25. We sat at a couple of beach bars and enjoyed some drinks. We decided not to stay on the beach and went back to the ship to use the pool instead. It was too annoying.

Water was a bit too warm for our liking, however the shopping was extremely affordable. We also did an excursion here at Loterie farm that was fun.

Very beautiful beaches and nice vendors. We took a tour that took us up to the old fort and then took us to a shopping area in town. The tour guide was great.

The island is still recovering but the people do everything they can to help you have a nice time there. Our taxi driver was able to help us find a nice beach on the French side which we enjoyed

Specifically Philipsburg... You can get off the ship and take a free (tip only) shuttle down the pier to the ferry. The ferry costs $7 for all day come and go service. It goes to the town and beach right where the ship docks. The beach is beautiful, there are excellent places to eat or get a drink. It is a beautiful way to spend the day.
