We were very happy with our first cruise and the Regal Princess. Would recommend it to others.
Embarkation

Very good. Our shuttle ended up being an hour earlier than our assigned time but they sent us on through and there was not a wait. Very organized. The Princess medallion system is fantastic. The medallion and card for drinks and dining is so efficient.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We found for the most part the food to be very good. The buffet had a lot of choices. We found as we got to know how things were we stuck to what we liked and ignored the rest. You can only eat so much. The MDR was a nice experience and also very good food. We took anytime dining and always got right in as there were just 2 of us. We didn’t eat at any specialty dining as the food was more than adequate in the above mentioned.
Onboard Activities

We just used the pool area on the Lido deck 2 sea days. It was nice weather so was very busy. But there seemed to be enough chairs. Enjoyed the food places on deck too.
Entertainment

Excellent! We were very impressed with the caliber of musicians, singers, dancers and shows. Took in as much as we could around the ship. The theatre was packed every night and you had to get there half hour early to get a seat. Enjoyed all the small ensembles around the ship throughout the day and evening.

Service and Staff

Our steward was excellent. Friendly, helpful and remembered everything we liked or asked for. Never had to ask twice. Servers were attentive. Ships staff and guest relations were very nice and helpful. We found everything to be quite well run.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Once we got used to the size it got easier to find things. We did tend to get directionally challenged at times. This was our first cruise so really have nothing to compare it to. I feel things were kept clean and maintained considering we were close to capacity.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was roomier than we expected. Especially the bathroom. Loved having a balcony to be out on and see out. Lots of storage and hangers. The bed and pillows were very good comfort wise. It was kept very clean.
Ship tip
Its a big ship. Our cabin was midship on level 9 and central to all the elevators. We found this location great for getting around. We didn’t buy drink packages because we had $100 each in ship credit. We aren’t big pop or specialty coffee drinkers. We had a couple drinks each a day and came out way ahead than if we had purchased drink packages. We are big water drinkers. We ordered a case of water ahead and took our water bottles to fill as well. Our steward brought us fresh ice every day and we also used the buffet water dispenser.
We walked into Charlotte Amalie. It was cloudy and we got caught in a downpour. We wandered the town. Didn’t find this port well kept. A lot of garbage and derelict buildings. The shopping was mostly jewelry stores and trinket shops so really didn’t buy much. We hoped on a trolley bus back to the ship for $4 each. No excursions.
We liked St. Maarten better than St. Thomas. The port was clean and well maintained. And the town area as well even though they had a hurricane in 2017. We walked to town which wasn’t that far. Lots of cute buildings and shops. The boardwalk along the beach is lovely and beach very nice. What we didn’t like was how the locals harassed us constantly to get a beach rental package which was chairs, umbrella, drinks for $25. We sat at a couple of beach bars and enjoyed some drinks. We decided not to stay on the beach and went back to the ship to use the pool instead. It was too annoying.
Very smooth and organized. We chose self disembark so we didn’t have to put our luggage out the night before. And we downloaded the customs app and used it and we went through all of it very quickly.
