Instead of booking an excursion we hired a taxi to take us around both sides of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed this. Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a great tour. We saw some beautiful areas. There was still some damage but it did not lessen the experience at all. We loved the Star Wars museum and ended the day on the beach. A 2$ taxi ride back to the ship ended our perfect day.

Lots of hurricane damage still. Take the water taxi and then go to the beach right there. Hubby went jet skiing for 60 dollars, he had a blast. Lots of shopping

Considering the hurricane damage, they are trying hard to recover. We did island tour which now focuses on the "devastation". French side is in the worst shape. We did get out at Marigot for about 45 minutes. Tour included boat excursion on Simpson Bay by the airport. Lots of damaged/ sunken ships still in the water or washed up on shore. Not enough construction workers; great job opportunity! Dutch side in better shape; Philipsburg was fun. The islanders were very happy to see us; they need tourists to help with their recovery.

The usual trip to Maho Beach is always worth it. $17, I think, per person, for the round trip here. You pay at the taxi stand and they give you a colored wrist band to wear.

This was our last stop of the holiday, the island was nice, but is still suffering the effects of the last hurricane season! My wife had a pina colada in a pineapple, & we stopped at the Hard Rock Cafe here as well and had a lovely lunch. We spent some time on the beach and in the crystal clear water after that before heading back to the boat All in all a good time was had by all!

This poor island was so devastated by the 2017 hurricanes and is still in major recovery mode. We enjoyed our tour though and since tourism is their only economy tried to do our part to help out!

We loved St Maarten/St Martin. I the island is only 37 square miles and the is still a lot of damage from the hurricane but they are rebuilding. We did a tour with Bernard Tours (Daniel was our guide) here and learned so much about the Dutch side & the French side. Amazing tour! We also stopped at Cisco's Delicacy for lunch at had the best Jerk chicken.

Second time to St Maarten. My husband and i did the new zipline for $50 per person. This included a short tour and to zipline twice for each person. If you go to the info desk you will get a 10% discount- so we paid $90. We had a young driver (Chris) who took us around, we ate at a REAL caribbean restaurant not in the tourist area. I love St Maarten.

Favorite island by far! We went to Maho beach by the airport. Seeing the planes land was an unforgettable experience! Plenty of places nearby to get food & drinks. Can’t wait to visit again!
