We enjoyed our excursion to the Botanical gardens. Souvenirs were expensive on the Island.

We really enjoyed this port. We walked around right off the ship on our own. We toured the town with the map that they gave us right off the ship. They had tourist information people walking around town to answer questions. That was very helpful.

Did not do a tour. Town was dirty and not worth the short walk around. Vendors on the pier were the best part of stop. Priced in Euros and much higher than other islands.

We were here on a Sunday, so almost everything was closed. Just walked to the library & downtown & back.

My excursion took me to the Balata Botanical Gardens and the Church of Balata, which is modeled after Sacre Couer in Paris. Beautiful views from the gardens.

We loved Martinique. Did the 5 star sail and grand anse beach excursion. Got to see turtles through the glass bottom and the beach was nice. Our guide Chantal was fantastic. Afterwards we walked around town and had lunch at a sidewalk cafe. All in all we really enjoyed our visit to this Island.

(St. Pierre a Historical Capital excursion). The tropical rain forest scenery was amazing but, while there are some lovely resorts and upscale mountainside homes, the houses of the average folks are mostly ramshackle hovels made of concrete blocks and metal roofs that are in a terrible state of repair. Because of the humid climate, the walls of homes and public buildings are covered with mold. The old capital - St. Pierre - is a mess. The French government should be embarrassed and ashamed.

Went to 2 beaches by water taxi and didn’t like it. Lots of seaweed in the water. Water had not a nice color. Just kind of brown and not inviting. Uncomfortable sunbeds. Hope for the island that there are nicer beaches than the 2 we went to. Nice and friendly locals though
