A mix of exclusive resorts scattered amongst poverty. The Bathsheba area of the island is scenic and panoramic

Another nice stop and beach day. We went to the Boatyard Beach club for the day. It was a 5 minute cab ride from the cruise pier and for $30 a head ($60 per couple) you got a welcome drink and free shuttle back to the ship. Beach was excellent and plenty of watersports options available.

Beautiful beaches but choose a beach that's not Carlisle Bay. Although the water is gorgeous, everyone on the ship goes that so it's quite crowded.

Love Barbados. We just walked to Carlisle bay. We brought our own sun shelter so we set up on the quiet end of the beach for our home base. Found a local to get us a boat ride to see the turtles and a couple of shipwrecks…..$20pp. The boat captain swam down into a ship wreck and brought up a giant starfish for us to hold. He talked about the various fish and stirred up a stingray as well. They actually served us rum punch too. An unexpectedly excellent local excursion!

This was the polar opposite of St. Lucia. People had an understanding of road rules, everything looked like they knew people were coming to visit, and the beach we visited was pristine. The only thing disconcerting was the evidence of heavy Chinese investment in the island. From the food storage bunker being developed, to the magnificent Chinese tour bus we rode on, it is easy to see that this former British colony is quickly becoming Sino-centric.

We chose the George Washington House tour. Great for history. Interesting to learn about a US Founding Father from the perspective of an island hosting him while he was young and traveling with his brother.
