In contrast to St. Vincent, this island had four lifeguards on the beach and when children started to bother us, they were all over it. We went to Cane Garden Bay and the water was clear and so gradually shallow our five year old did great. The umbrellas and chairs were reasonable, drinks were reasonable and everyone was so nice. We had a blast. In the past, we've gone to Brewer's Bay which is a little more secluded and better for snorkeling, but you give up the amenities, no chairs or umbrellas.

Beautiful island, great sailing, very civilized. Island tour in an open air bus was a bit hair-raising, but the beach we visited was very pretty. Shops were good and easily accessible from the ship- but there were an extraordinary number of banks everywhere.

We did another beach excursion here and again was very disappointed. The shuttle somewhat broke down going up over the mountain and all of the passengers were asked to get off and walk to the top of the hill where he picked us up again. The clutch on the vehicle was slipping very badly. After reaching the beach we ended up having to rent our own chairs and the beach was very small with gritty sand which was hard to walk on. Complained about this when we got back to the ship. They gave us a 10% discount which should of been a full refund. Terrible excursion and terrible handling of the issue by Norwegian.
