A lot of people don’t like Freeport, but mom and I loved it. We just stayed by ship and did some shopping. It was a calmer place and very enjoyable. In Dec when we go back I am thinking of doing the dolphin swim.

We swam with the pigs at this port. David, our bus driver, was very knowledgeable about the island and was friendly. General Brooks, our pig guru, was humorous and interesting. We felt very welcome on this island. The port was clean and organized.

Looks like a container ship yard when you dock, minimal shopping in a small straw market, this is your place to do an excursion. We did nautical catamaran & reef snorkel... 20 minute drive on a bus to the excursion and the crew was very friendly.

I did the All Inclusive Beach Getaway. It was awesome. Food was good and the servers attentive. Chairs and umbrellas were also included. All you can drink and a buffet.

When they tell you something is made in the Bahamas, turn it over and look for the tag that says "Hecho in Mexico" or "Made in China." Just buy the straw goods and wood carvings that are local. Everything else you can get cheaper at your local five and dime... if you even buy it at all.
