Not our favorite port of call but this day was a positive experience. Upon getting off the ship we were greeted by a professional taxi driver who took us to the Grand Lucayan Resort. She took us directly there, $10 per person round trip, no fuss. The resort has sadly been quite damaged by the hurricane but all the staff were friendly and professional. You can purchase a $5 beach pass, $21 resort/pool pass, or a $78 all inclusive pass. We opted for the $21 pass and enjoyed the pool and scenery.

Went on the glass boat tour; saw all kinds of fish and several sharks. On the way to this excursion, you will see "the man by the fence" I believe his name is Lienardo aka 2Pac. He's a carver and his artwork is priceless!!! If you see him, tell him "Black Moses" sent you.

Beautiful water. Nice beach, but the beach we were taken to was not associated with a resort. There were no beach chairs or umbrellas. However, we were able to get under some trees. It was great fun. The rum they put in the coconut drinks were very strong. Had a fun time at this port.

The Pride arrives way too early to this port. I spoke to a woman from Bahamas Tourism and she said that they have been trying to get Carnival to shift the timing to 9 a.m., but Carnival is not interested. This being said, it makes it challenging to enjoy an excursion. We had planned to spend the day at a local hotel with a day pass. After docking and having breakfast it was 8:30 before we were ready. We opted to stay at the port. it has grown and improved since we were there last time. Lots of shops and eateries now populate the port. In particular Senor Frogs was a blast. We had visited Senor Frogs 10 years ago in Puerto Rico and felt a little old, but at Freeport it's kind of the only show in town so the age was more mixed and we felt very comfortable. I noted how much the staff enjoyed working there. We ordered appetizers and drinks and found it plentiful and delicious.

Have been here twice in the past year. The port area is a bit rough, but GET OFF THE SHIP. There are plenty of things to do if you look. We have been to two separate all-inclusives and both were entertaining and provided good food and drink. One particular cabby named Nico went WAY out of his way to help us out. I think he was a good representative of the people of this island. Get out there and meet them!

We have only shopped here, this is our souvenir stop. The place has an industrial feel to it, but the people are nice. The wife likes it because they sell fried conch fritters, which she loves. I can take this port or leave it.

We had a great time at this stop. The port was a little run down, but the locals were very nice. My daughter had her hair braided there, which she loved. We walked to the local beach (about 10-15 min or so). The beach side was crowded (both locals and tourists), but not in the water, so that is were we spent our time. You can see the cruise ships from the beach. There is a small shack/bar there as well. On the walk back we stopped in some shops, it’s pretty much the same thing being sold in each store (swap meet style). At one point some locals asked us to walk to their store that was setup in a alleyway, we couldn’t even see the store, we said no (please don’t go into a alleyway). Getting on and off the cruise ship was fairly easy.. They do have some horses lined up by the port, ready to ride. These horses looked so thirsty, and neglected, it was hard to even look at them.

This is really just a gas station for the ship. It's only slightly better than a truck stop on the Jersey Turnpike. There is the straw market full of the same cheap "local" junk that is sold at all of the ports. The big stores are the same as the other ports as well. I've never done any excursions but I'm not reviewing the excursions. My family ans I use this time to take advantage of the reduced prices on the spa or to relax in the pool when a lot of people are off boat.
