Anywhere in freeport requires a taxi to get to (or taking an excursion which you have to take a taxi to get to). We once again didn't set up an excursion buuut took a $5 taxi to the market. We ate lunch there, walked around the market, and across the street was a beach where we went in for free. There happened to be an excursion set up there that surprisingly people paid around $40 a piece to do. So you can save a lot of money if you trust that you can handle figuring out your ride etc once at the port.

The island is still pretty torn up from the hurricane. Loved the dolphin experience.

Freeport was okay. Since our port time was relatively short, we opted to pick up souvenirs and have a drink at Señor Frogs. Perhaps next time we will look into an excursion.

The island has majorly suffered and there isn’t a ton to do. Unsure why cruises are still docking

We did the private tours and it was just as good and went to a beach party that was great and fun.

Port Lucaya and the beach were the feature places of this port. My group went on a local tour of the Island and it was a good tour. We were driven through the Island and told a little about the history of Freeport, went to a local area for a little shopping and snack, and found out that the hurricane of 2004 caused some severe damage to some places that have still not recovered. We ended up at Port Lucaya shops and the beach and had some time to enjoy them and ate at the Zorba restaurant and enjoyed some local cuisine such as Conk Fritters, Salads, etc.
