We booked an excursion thru the ship which was good since our port times were changed from noon to midnight to 0700 arrival. Our tour was bumped up to a meet time of 0730 which was way too early for us (we skipped on some of the entertainment the night before since we had to wake up so early). Honestly the ship should have cancelled all excursions. We were in the middle of a nor'easter with driving and pounding wind and rain. We were soaked and miserable; and did not get to enjoy the excursion as we should have, shame on them for continuing this. The stop for lunch had lost power due to the storm and did not have indoor restrooms.

We did the Bay of Fundy coast to shore tour and it was great. Our tour guide, Keith, was informative and entertaining and St. John was beautiful. The only down side was how crowded it was. I waited in line 20 minutes to use the bathroom.

2 hop on bus options were fully booked. Walked along towards the town to discover another hop on company. Recommend this and is cash only but the driver was excellent and covered all the highlights

When we went on shore there were vendors with signs that said whatever you buy there can be brought back to the ship. This is a LIE. We each get a bottle of soda pop and I had a big argument with security about it and ended up having to dump it. We paid $10 for them. After an argument with customer service they gave us 3 cans to replace it. Not a fair trade.

This city gets such a poor rating, not from the quality of the city but from the worst tour that I have ever been on being offered here. We chose to take the Reversing Rapids Railway Tour in this port. We have previously taken a train tour in Alaska on the White Pass & Yukon railroad that was spectacular. That was a tour from Skagway, not the Alaskan railroad from Whittier to Fairbanks. The scenery can be among the best you will ever see by rail. So we saw this train tour to the famous reversing rapids on the Saint John River and thought it should be something that should be both scenic and very interesting. The bus was 20 minutes late picking us up at the ship but the ride to the depot was only less than 2 miles away from our port. That turned out to be a non-issue because the train wasn't in the depot when we arrived. After another 10 minute delay, the train arrived and we boarded the train. The train traveled no more than half a mile to the bridge over the reversing rapids. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon when we arrived and the tide was midway between low and high tide. Not only were the rapids not flowing spectacularly, the water was nearly still as the flow both upriver and down were equal. What we got to see was basically a lake with water flowing in neither direction. This was the chance of the tides that day, so I don't blame the tour company for the poor luck in the timing. After about 15 minutes over the river, the train continued onward another half mile across the river to a switch track that provided a wonderful view of the wood chip piles of a paper company while the track switch was thrown. After another 10 minutes, the train reversed direction and continued no more than another 2.5 miles to another side track where our buses were waiting to take us on the 10-minute ride directly back to the ship. This "fabulous" experience of fewer than 4 miles of rail travel and fewer than 6 miles by bus was had for the bargain price of only $140 for the two of us. Pondering this, perhaps it was we that were had?

REVERSING RAPIDS This tour was advertised as taking a train ride to view reversing rapids. The train ride was very short and dull. The rapids took place when the tide was changing we found out latter. We arrived during slack tide and the rapids took on the appearance of a very calm lake. The next highlight was a stop at a pulp mill. Yes a pulp mill. From the train we saw a wood chip truck unloading into a big hopper. At least that’s what the tour guide told us as it was too far away to get a good look. This was a very disappointing tour and a waste of money

We did the Trolley around St John which would have been great, except for the fact that the trolley we were on had plastic sides that you could not see through!! And people sitting in front of us did not want the sides raised because they thought it would be too windy! That was a disappointment. Tour guide was good and informative, although sometimes hard to hear her due to trolley engines. We did enjoy walking around the city after our excursion.

Took On and Off bus and guides were very knowledgeable. Reversing Falls was a nice stop but did not time it correctly to see the full effect,
