We spent 2 days in Montreal prior to the cruise. We just walked around the genral area of our hotel.

Since I live in a city nearby, I had lunch nearby, at the "Pointe à Callières Museum" restaurant.

We were here during the International Jazz Festival (we stayed 3 blocks away). Great music every night. We also did the Hop On, Hop Off shuttle for 2 days so saw a lot of the city, although you can get to the same places via subway as well (which is underground). We felt this was a very safe city.

Great city for a short or long visit. One hour highlight in bad weather- the Underground City. Two hours- Notre Dame & Place Jacques-Cartier. Full day- Mont Royal Park. Breakfast with a ham & cheese croissant, honey dipped bagel, or crepe. Lunch with some Bier & Poutine (fries, cheese curds, & gravy.) Dinner with some local smoked meat or fish. Easy walk into old town from the cruise port, but only small ships can make it to this port!
