The Fortress of the Bears is an absolute must-see. I went two years ago and again this trip and LOVED it both times.

My favorite stop, great weather and lots of wildlife, went on the Otters Raptors and Bears Oh My tour and it was absolutely amazing saw so much wildlife.

Port was right in town so easy access to everything. Walked to Raptor Center, around town and had lunch at local restaurant. Great day!

If you make a stop in this port, save room for a meal at a local pub called Bay View Pub and probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. I asked the waitress if I'd like 'rock fish' and she said yes. She didn't lie. Right in town, second floor.

Absolutely loved Sitka. Was able to walk around town a bit before it was time to go on my excursion. Loved that this port wasn’t just the same shops as at every other port. The people in all the shops were really friendly and helpful when I was trying to find the shop where I was supposed to meet my friends. Went on an amazing hike in the Tongass National Forest with very informative guides. If I could move to any town we visited in Alaska, it would be Sitka. Actually checked to see if there were any job postings there when I got home from my cruise 😜

The weather and sites here were absolutely beautiful! We went into town and wanted something quick to eat before our kayak tour on the ocean, so we had some local Mexican food, it was not bad at all. It was actually tasty coming from an Alaskan standpoint LOL. The kayaking tour we did was about two hours, it was absolutely worth it. Me and my dad were able to see tons of wildlife i.e. Dear, jellyfish, soaring Eagles and tons of salmon.

Took the tour that included a brief stop at the Russian Orthodox Church where they have beautiful icons other beautifully adorned items, and the tourist shops in 'downtown' Sitka and also went to a museum just outside of 'downtown'. We got to the museum and while the museum was nice and the adjacent woods very nice, we were anxious to get a move on and so we didn't stay for the dance party of the tour. We took off from that stop on the tour and walked back to the downtown area which is very close and is an easy walk with nice views. When we got back to town we decided to try a raindeer sausage from a couple of gals who sold them next to a shop. It was really good but i can't vouch for sure it wasn't a bratwurst. The tourist shops seemed to have a good variety of merchandise at decent prices and the town wasn't overloaded with shops selling diamonds and tanzanites. We caught one of the shuttle buses that goes back to the ship on a street closer to the water than the main tourist strip.

Kayaking tour with Sitka sound Ocean Adventures. They were amazing. We also took a tour of native village and saw native totem carvers and totem poles. Very inspiring.

We just got off the ship and walked all over. We went through the rainforest and saw all the totem poles and went to the bird sanctuary. It was all fun

I just experience walking on Lincoln Street and found a lovely store that sells fabric which was on sale for $2.00 a yard, transfer pencils to use with a hot iron which I never have seen before so I purchase 2 packs of a set of 2.
