We paid an exorbitant amount per person for the Floatplane and Cruise...Horrible. NOT what the brochure advertises, did not see the 1000 foot fall, horrible pilot .taped what he thought was apparently homemade tour with oldie background music that drowned out the tour. At one poin said relax and enjoy the music...duhhh..I did not pay over $300 to listen to his favorite oldies in Alaska (and luxury catamaran, was an aluminum boat with a dirty small snack station which claimed to have best hot chocolate ...a machine we get in any airport. People slept during the cruise. We were anticipating something similar to our Luxury Train ride...not even close and it falsely advertised what we were getting. I heard from others that they had wonderful pilots etc....

Quaint town, full of jewelry shops (they were in the process moving to the Caribbean for the winter. Toured the town, the salmon were at the end of their run, the rivers were cog with fish.

Again, a bit commercialized with lots of tourist shops. Weather didn’t allow for much walking around town and a lot of the excursions had to be cancelled unfortunately.

We had an excursion booked, but it was canceled due to inclement weather. This left us with nothing more to do than walk around the small city in what was often pouring rain. Needless to say it definitely put a bit of a "damper" on things. However, I guess it's too be expected when you consider that they average over 17 feet of rain per year. Lots of history in this city. Lots of women of the night. LOL!

Less attractions than other ports but salmon in creek to fish hatchery is a nice walk and the totem pole museum along the creek is much better than the one downtown. Good artist stores. Cheapest souvenirs you can get in Alaska. DUCK amphibious tour was entertaining.

Unfortunately, the boat excursion we were on developed a mechanical problem after 1/2 hour, and went back to the ship. We had very little choice of other excursions, so picked on "the deadliest catch" which was very hokey. We did get to see bald eagles, so that was some compensation.

The town really had nothing to do. We found creek streek boring and the town too hot to walk through. When we were making our way off the ship from lunch, we finally booked a Misty Fjords sightseeing tour that we got for around 70$ the cruise line excursion price. The floatplane was a fun ride, but we really didn't see any mist... The sun was high up in the sky, but it was a great experience.
