Excursions were the Hatchery and Mendenhall Glacier and Salmon Bake. Hatchery was a disappointment. Nothing noteworthy to see or do. At the Glacier we walked a quarter mile to a large waterfall - beautiful scenery! Salmon bake was enjoyable - food was good and the onsight band was very good.

Another great Alaskan port. Beautiful downtown area for walking around. We did the team tour. Visited the Red Onion Saloon for drinks and nibbles. Great entertainment. Even visited Costco in this town.

Wish we would have had more time. So much to do and see. Definitely recommend the team and hiking up the summit

Just finished a Kayak in the Tongass with Emma from Above and Beyond Alaska. Awesome excursion! So beautiful! We saw eagles and a sea lion catching and eating salmon from a river spilling into the ocean. You don't see THAT everyday! Impressed! Great tour in a beautiful city!

Probably the smallest and least pretentious state capital you’ll ever see. Went on an excursion bus to the glacier (the real action is the salmon stream and the bears), salmon hatchery and fish fry - sense a pattern there?

We went to the Mendenhall Glacier and the rain dampened this location. It was very crowded and a bit chaotic. After seeing Dawes glacier the day before, this was a bit of a let down. Once again though, it really was beautiful! We also visited the salmon hatchery and unless you are really in to stuff like that, it was a yawner. I would suggest doing a guided tour here with someone that can give you information about the area.

Did the canoe trip to Mendenhall Glacier. Incredible experience. It started out rainy, but in the end the sun was we out. Highly recommend if you want to see it up close. The visitor's center is pretty far off. You do have to paddle though! It's not too bad though. We had a group of 12 plus the guide.
