Loved the dog sledding. The event was educational and real cool. If it is above 75 degrees they don't run the dogs. The bus did let us off in town when we asked.

The photo safari with Gastineau guiding was excellent, so much so we did it again on the return leg an again a couple of years later. Covers a walk to Mendenhall glacier and a boat trip out to find whales, etc. Boats are specially designed with photographers in mind and work really well.

All water actives were canceled due to high seas. This was very frustrating but again, it was out of their control. BUT what was in their control was the way they handled it. Everyone was notified last minute (5 minutes before departure), those who didn't purchase wifi had no way to look up other options for fun and activities to do on land. The excursions that were offered were quickly filled. We were able to get an excursion but it started late due to everyone rushing from the front desk to the bus. What was supposed to be an almost 3 hour event ended up being a 2 hour excursion due to last minute people arriving and delay. One of stops was only 10 minutes, literally... 10 minutes. Juneau was stunning though, a very neat place to visit.

Rented a car. Went to Mendenhal Glacier in the morning and hiked to Nugget Falls and went to visitors center. Heard from other travelers that they saw the momma bear and two cubs down the trail to salmon run by the parking lot. We enjoyed the entertainment and lunch at The Red Dog Saloon. Drove out to St. Therese Shrine, pretty views, and saw an eagle in the trees. Then walked around and shopped.

We caught a bus to downtown. Loved Tracy’s king crab, staff was helpful with cracking crab shells. We enjoyed visiting Diamonds International, the staff was extremely customer oriented.
