Mixed review. First the area- unspoiled beautiful. The native people own this and have turned the old cannery into a huge shopping area with many quaint gift shops featuring native made jewelry and many other items too many to mention. Second part was the ATV excursion- drove in convoy through a cart path for several miles. Lots of exhaust if you have a problem with that I wouldn’t do this. Saw some bear scat but really not much else. Drove to hill top with view of mountain range and saw blueberries. Lots of $ for not much- wouldn’t recommend. Although the woman who gave the commentary on the way to The ATVS did a great job with the information on native culture.

Typical small tourist trap. I'm not thrilled the way NCL parks their ships way out of town to save a few dollars. I don't like having to take a 30-minute ride each way to go to a port where other cruise ships are already docked at.

Icy Strait point has certainly changed they have made it a must see destination. Unfortunately due to a couple of major storms coming our way our time and Icy Strait point was cut short.. we did not book any excursions that walk through the historic Sam and cannery visited the local shops before having to get back on board ship so we could depart early and attempt to mess they heavy weather storms heading our way. I certainly did not feel cheated by Us having to leaving that particular port early
